Weekly Quiz

Tom has a bag of chocolate bars. After giving each student 5 chocolate bars each, he would have 90 chocolate bars left. If he had given each pupil 10 chocolate bars, he would have 20 chocolate bars left. How many chocolate bars does Tom has at first.

Tips for P5 & P6 : Determine the difference between the two scenario. Hence the number of such sets which will determine the number of students Tom had given chocolates to. Eventually will lead to the number of chocolates Tom had at first.

Tips for Secondary students: Solve by setting algebraic equation for the two scenario with the unknown of Total Chocolate bars Tom had and the number of students he is giving to. Solve simultaneously by elimination or substitution method.
